Constantine Maroulis may be leaving “The Wedding Singer”, but Broadway isn’t ready to give him up. Constantine is scheduled to sit down with Seth Rudetsky for the November 2nd edition of Seth’s Broadway Chatterbox. The weekly live show held at the New York cabaret Don’t Tell Mama includes interviews and performances from Broadway stars. The $10 donation goes directly to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the nation’s leading industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.Â
I hope the show is filmed and posted somewhere - I would love to see a live interview. I really didn’t like this interview from the Village Voice - as a matter of fact, I hated it. I can’t help but think it was seriously slanted to make Constantine look a bit pathetic, so if he has the opportunity to make a better impression I am all for it. Constantine is starring in “The Wedding Singer” until December 3.
Mikalah Gordon is taking part in the The Comedy Festival which starts November 14th in Las Vegas. She will be starring in her own Barbra Streisand impersonation act at Caesar’s Palace. Wow…am I ever joking!  I kid because I love.  Actually, Mikalah and co-host Woody Wittman will be in the interactive TCF Village located in the outdoor Roman Plaza amphitheatre of Caesars Palace. The Festival sounds like a great time, and November in the desert is heavenly. Best of luck to Woody  Mikalah and have fun everybody!
Alaskan singing star Jewel will be a guest judge next season on American Idol. She joined Randy, Simon, and Paula in Minneapolis for the auditions.
I just can’t get over the ridiculous hullaballo going on about the rehearsals.com “Hollywood Nights” performance in which Taylor Hicks drops the ‘f’ bomb. Are you kidding me? Some people are absolutely beside themselves about it - they have resigned from the Soul Patrol, written horribly judgemental comments (which in my opinion are considerably more offensive than the ‘f’ word), and are, in general, having a hissy fit. If you are interested in what Taylor himself has to say about it, read his comments here. If you haven’t seen the performance, watch it here. If you are one who is upset by the ‘f’ word, go elsewhere.
Be on the lookout for a Taylor Hicks’ interview in Billboard magazine. Read the summary here.
Clay Aiken is certainly in the Christmas spirit this year! He will be releasing a limited edition, EP titled “All Is Well - Songs For Christmas” available exclusively through Wal-Mart.  This December, Clay will join select local orchestra and symphonies for one-night-only performances of all Christmas music. In addition to numerous television appearances to promote A Thousand Different Ways, Clay will also guest star on the daytime drama, Days of Our Lives. Translation for Claymates: TPTB have arranged for thudalicious clack for clirgins and Claymates and an opportunity to see OMC live! THUD! Cliggles!! LOL!!
How is this guy not single?  Simon Cowell actually has rules, not requests, but RULES for when his girlfriend can talk to him. He says, “I have a strict routine. I won’t take calls an hour before bed. And Terri knows there are no questions after 11:30 p.m. Seriously don’t even ask me the time. There are no rules except when to stop talking. If I’ve had a really long day, and I’m just beginning to relax, when someone says, ‘What else happened today?’ I have to say, ‘I’m sorry you just have to shut up.’” Holy schniekies! This guy’s shorts holds more brass than the Pentagon! Anyone else think he puts on a leather mask and carries a riding crop when he gets home?  As for his girlfriend, Terri, she seems to be okay with his behavior - after all, she has been with him for six years. Being submissive is not for me, but hey, who am I to judge? If that’s what blows your skirt up, Terri, by all means stay with your unfaithful master. Personally, I think it’s time for an intervention…
Kellie Pickler’s debut CD, Small Town Girl, will be available in stores tomorrow, but if you can’t wait, listen here. I tend to agree with this review - better than expected, but mediocre.  She’s doing what she does best, however, and that is getting out there and just being herself. How can you not love her?  Kellie has moved to Nashville, she’s been on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and this week she’ll be hitting the talkshow circuit. It doesn’t hurt that the country music radio stations are so Idol-friendly, so I don’t believe her sucess is in jeopardy.  Kellie will do just fine. Kellie has an extremely bright future ahead of her, but she still has much to learn about the business and songwriting.  I believe her second album will surprise us all!
TV Appearances:
November 1st, “Today” show
November 2nd, ”The View”
November 3rd,  ”The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”Â
Taylor Hicks will be performing along with Christina Aguilera, Lionel Richie, Sting and many, many more music legends on NBC’s Christmas at Rockefeller Center on November 29th. Taylor will most likely perform a traditional holiday song and a song from his upcoming CD. Oh, please, don’t make him sing Elvis’ Blue Christmas…
Gaaahh! I’m so excited! Listen to the preview of Chris’ new CD here.  I don’t buy many CD’s - actually, I don’t buy any CD’s. I have exactly seven CD’s in my collection: ”The Commitments” soundtrack, Billy Joel’s “52nd Street”, Simon and Garfunkel’s “Concert in the Park”, the movie soundtrack for “West Side Story”, Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” and “Thankful” and John Denver’s Greatest Hits (I must have been PMSing the day he died - otherwise, there’s really no excuse).  So, for me, buying a CD is an event. I want to feel the butterflies in my stomach while driving to the store, I Read the rest of this entry »
