Ace’s single, “Scattered”, is available for download on iTunes. Listen to a sample here. I must admit, I didn’t really care for it until the chorus - it sounded like something from the “From Justin to Kelly” movie (EEK!). It did get better, but not sure I’ll spend the money to buy it.

Nope. Despite the rumors, The Little Memphis Blues Orchestra, Taylor Hicks’ former band, will not be accompanying Elliot on the road. In a post on the official AI message boards, LiMBO horn player Jeff Lopez set the record straight:
“We are going to continue to work with both Elliot and Taylor as opportunities present themselves…but it is important to note that right now we are not “officially on tour with either artist.”

Whitney Houston, in one of her first public appearances since her break up with Bobby Brown, was the center of attention at The 17th Annual Mercedes-Benz Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills Saturday night. Everyone was anxious to hold court with Miss Houston, but Katharine McPhee sure got her attention. Actually, Katharine got everyone’s attention with that dress…ahem. Anyhoo, Katharine was supposed to sing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” but instead opted to sing Whitney’s “I Have Nothing.” It’s been reported that Whitney nodded in approval and led a standing ovation after the performance. Afterward, Kat was brought over to meet Houston, who took Katharine’s hands in hers. “She said she was really proud of me,” said a tickled McPhee.
Katharine sang “I Have Nothing” on American Idol last year: I remember it being better than the judges gave her credit for (that was the performance that the judges slammed ruthlessly which led Simon to apologize (gasp!) to Katharine the next night and the yellow dress incident) but not good enough to sing to Whitney herself! Boy, does Katharine have chutzpah or what?! Good for her!
She’s probably better off singing, though. This is an unfortunate quote: “It’s her first big appearance since the breakup,” explained McPhee on the pink arrivals carpet. “I would love to sing with her, but unfortunately all eyes are on me.” Obviously out of context, it is being cited as evidence of Katharine’s supposedly big ego. For what it’s worth, I don’t think she meant it like that at all. I think she meant, “I’d love to sing with her, but unfortunately, I’ll be up there alone tonight,” which doesn’t sound egotistical at all.
Ex-Idol and Oscar front-runner Jennifer Hudson also took the stage to perform I Am Changing. The performance inspired a whopping and hollering standing ovation from the crowd and Whitney. Jennifer met her Idol, Houston, and expressed her dream to hear her sing again: “It would be a dream to hear Whitney perform again. She had the greatest voice of all time.” Amen…or amen until “Dreamgirls” hits theatres…

North Carolina native and American Idol alum Chris Daughtry will kick off North Carolina State University’s homecoming weekend celebration with a performance at the 4th annual Pack Howl Pep Rally and Concert. The show will be held at Reynolds Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 3, with the pep rally starting at 8 p.m. and the concert starting at 9:30 p.m. I have no love for the Wolfpack, but I would put away my Garnet and Gold for the night to see Chris…this is going to be an awesome show!
Katharine’s album is dropping on November 28th and she is going to be one busy, busy girl for the holiday season! TIVO alert!Â

Lost in the fall flood of Idol album releases is Jon Peter Lewis, or JPL to some.  JPL will be releasing his new album ”Stories from Hollywood” on November 7th. The album was a year in the making and features all original songs with a very unique sound. “I’ve always felt more comfortable with a rock edge to my music and I wanted to develop that sound. It’s been a long and challenging road over the last two years, but well worth the wait,” says Jon. Listen to samples from the new album here.
