I still don’t know what the deal is with this Katie Sah chick, but I do know one thing: this girl is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Justin can zing her without even trying and she has no clue he’s doing it. Here you go, Katie: CAVEAT: n. a qualification, warning, or admonition.
In part two of the Justin Guarini Series, Justin and Katie are on their way to play pool in an epic battle of the sexes. Each in their own cars, they share their “pre-battle” thoughts: No surprise, Justin is thinking about his balls…err…his pool balls and his strategy to win the game. Also no surprise, Katie isn’t having many thoughts at all - at least intelligible ones - she rambles a bit, sings a bit, and says the word “penis” a lot. Justin is as charming, upbeat, and funny as usual and Katie is…well…blonde. She is entertaining, you gotta give her that, and I will continue to watch her “show” - at least as long as Justin is her guest. Who knows? Maybe Kelly Clarkson will be next…
Kellie Pickler has been everywhere these days promoting her new album “Small Town Girl”. Here are a few links:
Today - “Red High Heels” performance
Showbiz Tonight - interview If you didn’t completely adore Kellie Pickler before, you will after viewing this very touching interview. I admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of hers - I thought she was okay, but nothing to get too nutty about. I was wrong. She is as genuine as they get and you can’t help but get sucked in by her story and her charm. Kellie certainly is a rambler - she may be the only other Idol who can out-gab Kelly Clarkson.
When the “news” first broke about R.J. Helton coming out of the closet, I had no interest in writing about it. Only because I have no interest in who’s gay, who’s straight, who’s into sheep, whatever. However, this interview sheds a bit more light onto the Idol machine and how the producers “protect” the American public and spin the show. Does anyone else find it offensive that the producers find it acceptable to exploit and make fun of flamboyantly gay contestants during the audition rounds (and beyond) yet find it unacceptable to let the truly talented gay finalists be themselves? And poor Clay Aiken…this guy just can’t catch a break. Clay is under so much media pressure right now he’s crapping diamonds - describing him as “…extremely, extremely NOT friendly…” wasn’t really necessary, was it?
Jim Verraros, booted early from Season One, has found success in the movie business. His film, “Eating Out 2″, opens the Reeling Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival in Chicago. Read the article about Jim’s movie career.
As for his music, his second album is due out in 2007. He says of American Idol: “I still keep in touch with everyone from that first season,” he says. “Of course, it’s getting harder and harder now that we’re all doing our own thing, but there are a few people I talk to regularly, or in Kelly [Clarkson’s] case, we talk through our people.” (Here’s a tip, Jim: If you’d stop mentioning “Issues 101″, maybe Kelly would talk to you herself.)
What was it like being a gay man on American Idol? “All the staff, the other contestants and the executive producers knew I was gay … ,” he says. “Were the producers threatened by it? Of course they were. With ‘American Idol’ being the title, the show had to be safe and with a cookie-cutter appeal. There was no place for an out gay performer.”
Please, oh, please let the Idol minds open up just the teeniest, tiniest bit this year! Give the American public a little credit! (Well, not too much - we still have Mississippi) It is 2006, after all…
The Who’s Who of music came together Thursday night to honor a country music living legend, Reba McEntire. The first installment of CMT’s Giant series was filmed at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles in front of a star-packed audience. Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Dolly Parton, Martina McBride, Wynonna and many more performed classic Reba songs and others such as Barbara Mandrell and Andie McDowell (don’t ask me) addressed Reba and the audience from the stage.

I’m not clear on this chick’s story, but Katie Sah at KatiesOpinion.com will have Justin Guarini on her “show” sometime in the near future. In the video “Dude…I’m Hungry” at the tail end during the credits she calls Justin. In the follow up video, “Justin’s Caveat”, Justin agrees to Read the rest of this entry »
Nikki’s McGibbon’s band, “Fire and Ice”, is looking for a keyboard/guitarist. I’d love to help out, but my musical ability is…well, non-existent. This band is HOT, baby! A Pat Benetar tribute band! I bet Nikki is awesome, actually. She was a rocker before rocking was cool on AI. It’s been nice to see her on AI Rewind, although - and I’ll say this in Read the rest of this entry »
The rumors were true! Kelly Clarkson taped an episode of Reba last night in LA. According to our spy network (a.k.a. Katie) Kelly was hilarious and did an awesome job. To quote 00Katie, ”Kelly had A LOT of lines” and “Once Kelly started before the director said action and she laughed and was like, ‘Why don’t I start when you tell me to sir, director sir.’” You won’t get any plot spoilers from me, but you Read the rest of this entry »
