This is the most important night to make it through in American Idol. Tonight we found out who made the top 12.

Next week, for the contestant’s song choice, the contestant will have to choose from The Rolling Stones. That should be interesting!

We got to see Season 8 contestants, Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud, perform Billy Joel’s Tell Her About It. They had been scheduled to perform the number with Billy Joel on the Season 8 finale but it was nixed because Billy Joel backed out. With no celebrity to perform with, they were cut. It was pretty awesome to see the dueling pianos, better later than never!

Scott MacIntyre actually has an album out called Heartstrings, which can be found on iTunes and at ScottMacIntyre.com.

Finally! Our top 12 are…

Here’s how the top 8 guys performed tonight:

Lee Dewyze - Fireflies by Owl City

Simon - “There’s nothing to rave about after that.”

Alex Lambert - Trouble by Ray LaMontagne

Randy - “I just wasn’t jumping up and down.”

Ellen - “Don’t become a cocky banana. Nobody likes that.”

Kara - “The only thing standing between you and winning it is you right now.”

Simon - “You are so — still — concentrating on trying to deliver the performance, we’ve never ever seen you relax or having a good time.”

Tim Urban - Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen

Randy - “You walked in some pretty big shoes, and I think you did a pretty good job, Tim,”

Andrew Garcia - Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera

Simon - “It really came over that you’ve been trying to work out what you should be doing, came up with the idea of Christina’s song. … It was a little bit desperate.”

Casey James -You’ll Think of Me by Keith Urban

Ellen - “I thought it was great.” “I really liked it.”

Randy - “I think it was a little bit of a safe choice.” “It was just alright.”

Kara - “Kind of back on the Casey-train.” “You’re doing what you do best.” “I’m missing that spark.”

Simon - “It was just second best.” “It made you sincere.” “You sounded great.”

Aaron Kelly - I’m Already There by Lonestar

Ellen - “I feel like it’s real.” “You have the confidence of someone older.” “I just didn’t think that was terrific.”

Randy - “Job well done, still some work to do.”

Kara - “You give it your all.” “It’s not relevant to your life.”

Simon - “It was the right type of song.” “It had emotion.”

Todrick Hall - Somebody to Love by Queen

Ellen - “I commend you for singing that song.”

Randy - “Todrick is back!” “You proved you could sing.” “I loved it.”

Kara - “You can’t listen to that and say that wasn’t good singing.” “There were moments though that I didn’t know if to laugh and it or love it.” “The singing was good.”

Simon - “He was good in parts.” “You told us who you are. You’re a Broadway singer, that is American Idol the musical doing Queen, silly gloves and the performing.” “At least you made an attempt to perform.”

Michael “Big Mike” Lynche - This Woman’s Work by Maxwell

Ellen - “Oh, may God! That was so beautiful!” “You are the one to beat now.”

Randy - “Really??? Yo, man, I have to give it to you again. This is crazy!” “That was HOT!”

Kara - (Crying) “I’ve never cried after hearing something like. It’s amazing. You were amazing.” “It brought me to tears.”

Simon - “This was so needed tonight.” “You 100% nailed it.” “It wasn’t just the best performance tonight, it’s the best performance we’ve had out of all these live shows this far.”

This is the most important night for the ladies. They need to do their very best to make it into the top 12! Here’s how it went…

Katie Stevens -Break Away by Kelly Clarkson

Simon - “You haven’t worked out what kind of artist you want to be.” “You kind of sucked the energy out of it.” “10 out of 10 for trying.”

Randy - “I was almost like Karaoke.”

Ellen - “Great song choice.” “I didn’t feel you.”

Kara - “I could hear you on the radio.” “I don’t think you know who you are as an artist, yet.”

Siobhan Magnus - House of the Rising Sun by The Animals

Simon - “I wasn’t quite such a fan of that.” “It was all a bit weird.”

Randy - “It’s Hot!”

Ellen - “You are why I love music.” “I was captivated.” “You’re spectacular.”

Kara - “Brilliant choice.” “You are so unique and different.”

Lacey Brown - The Story by Brandi Carlile

Simon - “I didn’t love, love the song but you sang it really, really, well.” “It feels like you’ve been doing this for a long time.”

Randy - “Best performance…in a long time.” “It was very cool.”

Ellen - “Best performance to date.” “Perfect song choice.”

Kara - “Effortless singing.” “Brilliant choice.”

Katelyn Epperly - I feel the Earth Move by Carole King

Simon - “I like you’re hair.” “I was kinda like request night at a restaurant.” “Other people look as if they’re trying harder.”

Randy - “I didn’t feel the connection, the vibe.” “It felt very put on.” “Nothing special about it.”

Ellen - “It wasn’t enough.”

Kara - “I didn’t feel like you were competing.” “I don’t know what happened.”

Didi Benami - Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac

Simon - “Head and shoulders above anything else we’ve heard tonight.” “You proved that you are an artist.” “The wow moment was actually the whole performance.”

Randy - “I’m not sure there was a wow moment.”

Ellen - “Yes indeedi Didi!” “I like what you did with it.”

Kara - “One of my favorite moment of the show this season.” “I have to congratulate you.”

Paige Miles - Smile by Charlie Chaplin

Simon - “It was just a horrible choice.” “The arrangment, to be fair, was awful.” “You’ve got no idea who you are.”

Randy - “It just didn’t work. The song is just way to big.” “It went completely flat.”

Ellen - “It was sad and heavy.”

Kara - “It was all wrong.”

Crystal Bowersox - Give Me One Reason by Tracy Chapman

Simon - “You are one million-billion percent going to be in the top 12.” “The most improved.” “You’ve got confidence.” “You are the one everyone has to beat.”

Randy - “This is what the shows about.” “Love the honestly.”

Ellen - “Best performance of the night.”

Kara - “It’s easy for you, cause you know (who you are).”

Lilly Scott - I Fall to Pieces by Patsy Cline

Simon - “You’ve very brave.” “That didn’t have the wow factor.”

Randy - “I think it was hot tonight.” “You’re in the zone.”

Ellen - “Loved it, loved you.”

Kara - “You made Patsy Cline feel current.”

Danny Gokey performed his song My Best Days Are Ahead of Me. He looked relaxed and was having fun on stage. His performance reminded us why we fell in love with him last season. He informed us that his new CD has a country flare and that he will be going on tour with Sugarland.

The 10 remaining girls performed tonight. Crystal is feeling better and is ready to take the stage. It’s interesting to know that never before in Idol history has the lineup been rearranged for a contestant. Remember when Megan Joy was ill? They didn’t allow the lineup to be changed then. So, does this mean that the judges are favoring Crystal?

Crystal Bowersox - Long As I Can See the Light by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Simon - “I completely misunderestimated you.” “That performance, that vocal, was incredible.” (Yes, Simon said “misunderestimated”…He made up his own word!)

Randy - “You’re not trying to be anybody else and every week, I don’t care, fifty weeks from now, you’re still going to be that girl, I love that girl! That girl is hot!”

Kara - “It’s effortless.” “Tonight, you hit a new level.”

Ellen - “That is pure, rare natural talent. There’s nothing forced, there’s nothing pushed.” “You’re amazing.”

Haeley Vaughn - The Climb by Miley Cyrus

Simon - “It was a complete and utter mess.” “There’s a certain irony about you singing a song about climbing when you actually fell off.”

Randy - “It didn’t work for me.” “It was excruciating.” “You had no connection to the song at all.”

Kara - “You need about a year of really strengthening your instrument.”

Ellen - “I did not feel you connect to the song.”

Lacey Brown - Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer

Simon - “You are taking part in a competition instead of showcasing who you are as an artist.” “We’re not going to remember it.”

Randy - “You didn’t do anything special with it.”

Kara - “You have to step it up from here, still.” “We’re listening to Lacey again.”

Ellen - “It was adorable.” “It was the right song.”

Katie Stevens - Put You Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae

Simon - “You’re not telling us ‘this is the kind of recording artist I’m gonna be.” “It wasn’t a winning performance.”

Randy - “You can tackle things that are a little bit more difficult melodically.” “It was kinda cool.”

Kara - “I’m so frustrated with you, Katie, cause we see so much in you.” “I’m still waiting for that moment for you.”

Ellen - “You have a really great voice.” “It still feels like I want to see you younger.”

Didi Benami - Lean on Me by Bill Willers

Simon - “At least you continued the cat theme throughout the song, because that’s what it sounded like. It was all over the place. It was screeching.” “It’s just a wasted opportunity.”

Randy - “I didn’t think it really worked. It showed more of the imperfections of the stuff you couldn’t do rather than heightens what you do well.”

Kara - “It wasn’t good.” “What I’m missing form you is consistency.” “We lost the uniqueness of your voice.”

Ellen - “You have a great, great voice.” “You tried to do stuff with it and I applause you for that.”

Michelle Delamore - With Arms Wide Open by Creed

Simon - “You kinda got 80% of it right.”

Randy - “It fell flat.”

Kara - “My favorite performance of yours ever.” “It felt believable.” “You took a risk and have a good attitude.”

Ellen - “You did do a lot with the song.” “You tried to do something completely different.”

Lilly Scott - A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke

Simon - “I wasn’t crazy about it like the others.” “I thought Crystal was stronger than you.”

Randy - “You’re definitely unique and you do you’re thing.” “My favorite performance tonight.”

Kara - “You just had your first ‘moment’ in this competition.” “Thank God you tried out.” “You’re gonna change the game.”

Ellen - “You’ve got It.” “By far the best performance of the night.”

Katelyn Epperly - The Scientist By Coldplay

Simon - “It was smart choice of song.” “You become quite corny when you perform.”

Randy - “I really like it.” “It was nice to hear you play the piano.”

Kara - “I kind of love you.” “From week to week, you’re switching around…you’re all over the place, but you’re really seriously good.”

Ellen - “I fell kind of asleep.” “It was so slow and it was way to slow.”

Paige Miles - Walk Away by Kelly Clarkson

Simon - “You’re getting lost in the songs.” It’s forgettable.”

Randy - “I wasn’t over the top in love with it.” “You’ve got this big voice.” “I’m not sure it was the best choice.” “I want to hear you hit the big notes.”

Kara - “I appreciated what you did.”

Ellen - “I love it, I thought it was fantastic.” “You changed it just enough to make it yours.” “You have one of the best voices.”

Siobhan Magnus -Think by Aretha Franklin

Simon - “You’re such a strange person.” “I thought there were parts of the song which were terrible and then that note was incredible.”

Randy - “It was dope! You slayed it! I loved it!”

Kara - “I don’t know how you hit that note.”

Ellen - “Most people would say don’t take on such a big song. But, ya know, they also said don’t mix sleeves with a blanket and look at the snuggie! It’s huge! So, I think, ah man! That was good.”

Normally, the girls would have performed first for the week but because Crystal Bowersox was taken to the hospital earlier in the day, the boys are going first. An anonymous source from Fox said that it was a serious health problem. Doctors told her that she wouldn’t be able to perform tonight but is scheduled to sing tomorrow, Wednesday, with the remaining girls.

Once again this week, the 2 guys and the 2 girls with the lowest amounts of votes will be ousted.

Here’s how the boys’ performances went…

Michael “Big Mike” Lynche -This is a Man’s World by James Brown

Simon - “What a difference!” “It didn’t sound dated.” “This is, by far, the best performance you have given…”

Kara - “Tonight, you went from being a singer to someone who could potentially be a great artist. You owned it.”

Ellen - “Everybody, now, has to top that. That was fantastic.”

Randy - “I gotta give it to you!” (With a standing ovation) “Crazy, unbelievable. An R&B star, right there.”

John Park - Gravity by John Mayer

Simon - “There’s nothing to get excited about that.” “I think in 20 minutes time, we’re going to forget that performance.”

Kara - “When you’re singing it, I don’t always believe it.” “I want to see you take some risks.”

Ellen - “There could have been a little more soul in it.”

Randy - “You didn’t bring anything new or kind of spicy to it.” “I just didn’t see anything special about it.”

Casey James - I Don’t Want to Be by Gavin DeGraw

Simon - “You turned into somebody you would see in any bar across American, somebody trying to be a rockstar.”

Kara - “You took 2 steps backwards.” “You didn’t hit everything.”

Ellen - “On paper, everything is there. I love your look, I love the way you sound. But there’s a stiffness about you…I want to see you perform more.”

Randy - “I didn’t know you played the guitar like that! Dude, that was hot!”

Alex Lambert - Everybody Know by John Legend

Simon - “I don’t get the feeling, at the moment, that you are taking part to win.”

Kara - “People would die to have that tone.” “Great improvement.”

Ellen - “Such a great voice, under that mullet there’s a little Sam Cooke voice.” “Of everybody here, you have the most unique style.”

Randy - “This is such an improvement over last week.” “I really enjoyed that.” “Way legit tonight.”

Todrick Hall - What’s Love Got to do With It by Tina Turner

Simon - “Move but don’t sing cause this is not working out for you.” “It was just one of those performances I’ve had the misfortune to see at a theme park.” “Corny, bad version of a Tina Turner song.” “You are getting this completely and utterly wrong.”

Kara - “I don’t get it, what happened to Todrick?”

Ellen - “Sing and move.” “I don’t think it was the right song.”

Randy - “I didn’t love this. Just sing a nice song and sing it.” “Just sing for once.”

Jermaine Sellers - What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye

Simon - “We’re frustrated and disappointed.” “You water down the songs.”

Kara - “You’re always doing too much.” “It feels forced.”

Ellen - “It just didn’t work for me.”

Randy - “It was just so close but so far at the same time.” “It just wasn’t a great performance.”

Andrew Garcia - You Give Me Something by James Morrison

Simon - “It’s just okay, and you’re better than okay.” “I’m disappointed still in you.”

Kara - “It’s kind of been going down.” “You gotta surprise us.” “You played it too safe.”

Ellen - “I liked it a lot.” “I’m thinking about getting your name tattooed on my neck.”

Randy - “Honestly, that wasn’t the vibe for you tonight.” “I didn’t get it, dude, it wasn’t good for me.”

Aaron Kelly - My Girl by The Temptations

Simon - “I didn’t like the song. It was all over the place.” “It’s too old fashioned.”

Kara - “Every time you step on that stage, it’s consistent.” “I really like you.”

Ellen - “The song was a little forgettable.” “You definitely have a great voice.”

Randy - “You can really sing.” “Nice one, Aaron!”

Tim Urban - Come On Get Higher by Matt Nathanson

Simon - “That was a marked performance from last week.” “You were more relevant tonight than a lot of the singer we’ve seen before.” “I’m really impressed by your attitude and your work ethic.”

Kara - “I liked the song choice.” “You didn’t make it your own.” “You look the part, you play the part, but its not there yet.”

Ellen - “There’s no stage presence.” “You’re so adorable, and if you act, you’re got it made.”

Randy - “I didn’t really get it. It was very karaoke.”

Lee Dewyze - Lips of An Angel by Hinder

Simon - “You are head and shoulders above everyone else.” “You look terrified right now.”

Kara - “It was a big improvement.” “I could hear you on the radio right now.”

Ellen - “It came out as a great performance because you were just really in that song.”

Randy - “I liked it!”

The first round ends with four people being eliminated and 20 moving on. Over 24 million Americans voted and here are the four whose American Idol dreams were crushed tonight.

Allison Iraheta performed her new single Scars.

Chris Allen performed Let It Be. His performance will be available on iTunes and 100% of the proceeds will go to the relief effort for Haiti. Also, people can donate by going to www.AmericanIdol.com and following the links, as well as texting the word IDOL to 20222 ($10 charge on your phone bill.) A video played in the background of his time there volunteering. It was a moving performance.

Bottom 2 girls:

Ashley Rodriguez

Bottom 2 guys:

Joe Munoz

Tyler Grady

Somehow Tim Urban managed to squeak by and survive elimination even though his performance was horrible yesterday! It was a bit of a shock that he isn’t gone.

Here’s how the top 12 guys performed on their first live round. It’s really great to see the Big Mike is still in the competition and wasn’t removed because of his father’s actions.

Todrick Hall - Since You’ve Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson (His own version, VERY cool! The judges were pretty harsh.)

Simon - “You came over as a dancer trying to sing.” “What you did was murder the original song.” “It was verging on stupid.”

Randy - “It didn’t even sound like the same song.” “You don’t have to go all over the top with the performance and completely change the song to give us who you are.”

Kara - “It’s undeniable that you are a performer and you took a risk.” “At least he’s being creative.”

Ellen - “You’re such a great performer.” “The singing wasn’t the greatest but you were such a great performer.”

Aaron Kelly - Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts

Simon - “It was…a good performance.” “It’s not a memorable song.” “With you, it’s all about self-belief and confidence.”

Randy - “You have a huge voice.” “I’m a big fan.”

Kara - “You have no idea how great your raw, natural talent is.” “What you do naturally, you can’t teach people.” “Great job.”

Ellen - “I love how humble you are.” “You’re just gonna get better and better.”

Jermaine Sellers - Get Here by Oleta Adams

Simon - “It’s the kind of song , you know, if you’re playing piano in a cocktail bar, somebody in their 50’s are gonna ask for that as a request.” “It actually sounded as if you were screaming.” “It just didn’t work.” “You’ve blown your opportunity.”

Randy - “You were trying to do too much vocally.” “Just sing sometimes.”

Kara - “It felt a little old to me.”

Ellen - “You were pushing a little too much.” “I really like you a lot.”

Tim Urban - Apologize by One Republic (He was cut from the show originally but called back when Chris Golightly was disqualified.)

Simon - “We absolutely made the right decision the first time around by not putting you through.” “There was just nothing to take from that.”

Randy - “It was just really the wrong song.” “None of it worked.”

Kara - “The music over powered you.” “You’re likable, current, and cute.”

Ellen - “You couldn’t hit those high notes.” “You’re adorable.”

Joe Munoz -You and I Both by Jason Mraz

Simon - “I think it was an okay, safe, forgettable performance and what you failed to do was to come out here and take your two or three minutes and show us and everyone else that you have the potential to be a star because in 10 secs time we are going to forget that performance.” “It was all a bit limp, forgettable…kind like our host.”

Randy - “You have a great voice.” “I think you did a good job.”

Kara - “You’ve been the best so far.”

Ellen - “Great stage presence.”

Tyler Grady - American Woman by The Guess who

Simon - “It’s all a bit cliched.”

Randy - “It was definitely style over substance.”

Kara - “It’s like Jim Morrison is all up in your room, all over the walls or something, there’s an obsession, kinda, with the 70’s.” “You have a front-man personality.”

Ellen - “You’re lacking the charisma.” “You’re kinda just going through the motions without really being that person.”

Lee Dewyze - Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

Simon - “This was the best performance by a mile.” “This guy is a naturally good singer.”

Randy - “It didn’t really quite work for me.”

Kara - “You almost made the song unrecognizable.”

Ellen - “I love the tone of your voice.” “It got a little too pushed.”

John Park - God Bless the Child by Billie Holiday

Simon - “You haven’t got an incredible voice.” “Zero emotion.” “Pointless performance.”

Randy - “It made you feel old and all out of sorts.”

Kara - “You have a really big voice in there but there was no connection.” “A little sleepy.”

Ellen - “I thought you sounded great.” “I like you a lot.”

Michael “Big Mike” Lynche - This Love by Maroon 5

Simon - “You were like the support act before the main act.” “You delivered so little.” “You’re better than that.”

Randy - “I like your persona.”

Kara - “It wasn’t outrageously great.”

Ellen - “You have so much personality, it’s just bursting out of you.” “I love watching you.”

Alex Lambert - Wonderful World by James Morrison

Simon - “That was the most uncomfortable performance of the night.” “Naturally, you have a good voice.” “I really feel for you.”

Randy - “It’s my favorite tone of voice.”

Kara - “You sound so much like James Morrison.” “It’s just not completely together.”

Ellen - “I like that you are holding out on the mullet and not letting it go.” “You just need to ripen.”

Casey James -Heaven by Bryan Adams (Singing straight at Kara! How cute!)

Simon - “You absolutely chose the right song.” “The cougar here loves you.” “You did great, well done.”

Randy - “I actually really liked you.” “I like you, too, but not in that way.”

Kara - (All smiles and she blushed, for sure.) “I didn’t recognize you with your shirt on.” “I’m married, honey, I love you.” “You’re eyes candy but you’re ear candy, as well.”

Ellen - “I could feel Kara undressing you with her eyes.” “You sounded great.”

Andrew Garcia -Sugar, We’re Going Down by Fall Out Boy

Simon - “I was disappointed.” “Too serious, too indulgent, not not original.”

Randy - “It was a little try-hard.”

Kara - “It was a really strange rendition of that song.”

Ellen - “I think you’re gonna stick around, we like ya.”

The 2 girls and the 2 guys with the least amount of votes will be cut.

Paige Miles - It’s Alright Now by Free

Simon - “Out of all the girls, you have the best voice.” “I wouldn’t have chose that song.”

Kara - “I disagree with Simon.” “You really got to put your soul into it, and that’s what you’ve got, a lot of soul.” “You got a ridiculous voice, girl.”

Randy - “Great job.”

Ellen - “You were so there, you were so present.”

Ashley Rodriquez - Happy by Leona Lewis

Simon - “It was clumsy…I didn’t like the arrangement.” “I don’t feel you as a contemporary recording artist just someone who sings other peoples songs not very well.”

Kara - “I gotta give you credit for taking on such a big song but there were definitely moments that were not great.” “I wanna see you take on songs that we wouldn’t think you’d sing and do something different with them.”

Randy - “I couldn’t really see you in there.”

Ellen - “It’s predictable.”

Janell Wheeler - What About Love by Heart

Simon - “You gave it 100% effort and probably delivered 65%.” “There were moments in the song that I do like your voice.” “I think you are going to survive this week.”

Kara - “The song was way too big for you.”

Randy - “The choice just didn’t work for me.” “I like your voice.”

Ellen - “I like that song and I thought you sang it very well.” “I like you.”

Lilly Scott - Fixing a Hole by The Beatles

Simon - “Definitely the better we’ve had so far.” “I’m still not feeling much star power from you.”

Kara - “You’re believable, you come from the heart.” “Everyone is going to remember you tonight.”

Randy - “I love the honesty, I thought it was great.”

Ellen - “You have such a distinctive voice and you stand out because you’re not like everyone else.”

Katelyn Epperly - Oh! Darling by The Beatles

Simon - “There were elements of that song where you were beginning to scream the song, um, and it was very messy, I actually like you.”

Kara - “You know your voice very, very well.” “I don’t think the make over is helping you, I liked you natural.”

Randy - “You pay attention to the tone.” “I just like your whole vibe.” “I think you can go places and do stuff.”

Ellen - “It was interesting to me and made me want to pay attention to you.” “I felt like it was pushed.”

Haeley Vaughn - I Wanna Hold Your Hand by The Beatles

Simon - “It was verging on terrible.” “You were like a wind-up doll that never stops smiling.” “It was a complete and utter mess.”

Kara - “From a technical standpoint, there were some issues with that performance.” “You come and you have fun and everyone around you feels that.”

Randy - “I think there are great possibilities with you because you are so bold but just try to get it all together in one package next time.”

Ellen - “You just shine.” “I enjoyed it.”

Lacey Brown - Landslide by Fleetwood Mac

Simon - “After about 15 seconds I was working out how much longer we’ve gotta listen to it for.” “It was just boring.” “You’ve got nice eyes.”

Kara - “It felt more forced.”

Randy - “I thought that was terrible.” “It just didn’t suit your voice.”

Ellen - “I know you’re better than that.”

Michelle Delamor - Fallen by Alicia Keys

Simon - “You did very well.” “There wasn’t one moment in the performance that I thought, wow!”

Kara - “When you hit it right, it sounds great but there were moments that it wasn’t great.”

Randy - “You did a pretty good job.” “Take some risks.”

Ellen - “That was fantastic.” “It seemed easy.” “I know you can do better than that but it was still amazing.”

Didi Benami - The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson

Simon - “A bit indulgent, I thought the song was dreary.” “I do like you and I think you have a good voice.”

Kara - “You, at least, made some changes to the original recording.” “It was a bit pitchy.”

Randy - “Where’s the star factor?” “You sounded great.” “It was so sleepy for me.”

Ellen - “It was just a little low-key, but you’re great.”

Siobhan Magnus - Wicked Game by Chris Isaak

Simon - “You might be a very dark person, I don’t know.”

Kara - “Kinda like you on that song.” “It feels real and I can feel that connection.” “I’d say pretty good.”

Randy - “You gotta great voice.”

Ellen - “I loved it.” “I thought it was a great song choice.” “I really liked it a lot.”

Crystal Bowersox - Hand in My Pocket by Alanis Morissette (by the way!…Her teeth look a lot better!)

Simon - “You’re doing a sound-a-like.” “I really, really like you. I think you’re refreshing.”

Kara - “You have greatness in you.” “You have the ability to take us on a journey.”

Randy - “You’re one of my favorites.” “I love your originality.”

Ellen - “You add something fresh to the show.”

Katie Stevens - Feeling Good by Michael Buble

Simon - “It started to become annoying.” “Very pageanty.”

Kara - “You were kinda all over the place.” “You have a natural gift. You have ridiculous chops.”

Randy - “You have a big voice.” “It was just too old for you.”

Ellen - “It was very conservative.” “It was a little old for you.” “You’re great.”

I hope this one is only a rumor but it is being said that Michael Lynche was disqualified for violating a confidentiality contract. Apparently his father told St. Petersburg Times that “his 26-year-old son had survived the “Hollywood round” of auditions filmed last week in Los Angeles — where singers plucked from the location tryouts are whittled down to 24 semifinalists” before the results were aired. That’s not poor Micheal’s fault! We have grown attached to the giant teddy bear who just became a father on national TV.

There will be a lot of upset people if he gets the boot!
