In addition, Underwood also received a Grammy award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her song Jesus, Take The Wheel. These wins are just another notch on American Idol’s belt. Kelly Clarkson (season one winner) also went on to win Grammy awards. While other artists haven’t achieved the musical success that Clarkson and Underwood have, they have definitely reached great heights. Currently Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee have top 10 albums on The Billboard 200. Then we have the breakout star Jennifer Hudson who has crossed over into film success having won a SAG Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Oscar for her perfomance in the hit film Dreamgirls.
