Constantine Maroulis updated some very important information on his MySpace page yesterday- his label information. He now lists his label as “Sixth Place Records”. Yay! I love it! It’s not the major record label fans were hoping for, but hey, it’s a label, right? It’s the first step in releasing a CD, right? Bring it on!
To be honest, I didn’t know what to make of Constantine when he was on Idol. The pouting, the hair, the grin – I could see him very clearly on Broadway, but filling arenas? Well, let’s just say I was “schooled’ in Greek Boy at the Idols Live! tour. Constantine was far and away – far, far, far, and away the most entertaining performance of the night. I certainly wasn’t expecting it – hell, I went to see Vonzell for pity’s sake. She was great too – they were all good, even Scott Savol – but Constantine was the showstopper. I was a dancing, screaming, singing idiot…I embarrassed my date – well, alright, my mother – to no end, but I didn’t care. How can you not rock out to Constantine?
As far as predicting CD success – who knows what the numbers will be. I believe Constantine will fall into the Taylor Hicks category: good CD, but phenomenal in concert. YouTube is full of Constantine performances, but in spirit of the season, here is a Christmas tune.

May I please have some of what you are smoking?
Curious why you do not compare ROCKER Constantine with ROCKER Daughtry. I mean after all, if it were not for Constantine, Chris Daughtry would not even have a CD.

Rori! Always happy to share the smokes with a friend! I agree that Bo and Constantine broke the Idol rocker taboo and paved the way for Chris, but why do I have to compare anyone to anybody? They’re both successful and talented in their own right~can you imagine Chris Daughtry on Broadway? Me either ~ and I can’t (yet) imagine Constantine having the wide appeal of Chris. I wish them both success ~ isn’t that allowed?

Thanks so much for re-posting this lovely Christmas tune.
I simply CANNOT wait for Con’s CD and TOUR!!!! (hopefully)… and I agree… since he doesn’t have a major label to distribute his CD (which I happen to think is a major stroke of GENIUS… nobody to answer to, nobody’s rules to follow… he’ll sell CD’s at his live CONcerts!!)… he’ll be depending on large crowds for his tour.
CONSTANTINE!! Come to Seattle and Portland!! We’re waitin’ for ya!!

Actually, Constantine did have a major label and got out of the contract; he has always expressed the desire to retain control over his own career and I applaud him for having the courage to go for it. He is still one of the most talented and VERSATILE entertainers to ‘lose’ on AI and his last New Music Tour show (late night after a Wedding Singer performance) in NYC was so jammed he had to have special security clear a path for him to get to the stage.
I have no worries; he will rock on Tour, he will amaze in BREL and he will sell CDs everywhere he goes! ROCK IT ON, CONSTANTINE!
