Katharine McPhee Releases Walmart Exclusive

News, Season 5, Album Reviews

“I Lost You” is a slower ballad, but honestly, am I the only one who didn’t think it sounded like Kat - at all? It wasn’t offensive cough*Open Toes*cough, but it seemed strange.  Of course, my track record for picking a winner is pathetic - I didn’t like Kelly’s “Since U Been Gone” the first 20 times I heard it either…maybe I should hedge my bets and predict “I Lost You” will be my favorite song.  At least it’s spelled correctly…

“Dangerous” sounds even less like Katharine than “I Lost You” to me - I don’t know…where did I put those Q-Tips?  It is catchy - the club/dance mix is going to explode!

Follow the links to the songs while you can or risk getting crushed in the Taylor CD stampede at Wal-Mart.

  1. Rori Says:

I think this is Kat’s acid test. If this two song CD does not sell, I think her CD will be “pushed back” even further.

I have not heard one song from her that would make me buy her CD.

I agree. Yay! I agree with Rori! Now what the hell is a Constantine pancake?

  3. Carl Says:

I don’t agree at all with you two. If it were such then it wouldn’t have been a Wal-Mart exclusive. The label has already invested far too much time and money in Katharine to back out now. They’ve actually probably spent more on her than any other this season.

Here’s what a label exec. at J Records had to say:
“If I put a piece of shit on [Katharine’s] CD, it will guarantee a million sales, but if we get this thing right, it’s Kelly Clarkson. It’s 15 million records.” -Steve Ferrera, J Records Executive
