Gaaahh! I’m so excited! Listen to the preview of Chris’ new CD here.  I don’t buy many CD’s - actually, I don’t buy any CD’s. I have exactly seven CD’s in my collection: ”The Commitments” soundtrack, Billy Joel’s “52nd Street”, Simon and Garfunkel’s “Concert in the Park”, the movie soundtrack for “West Side Story”, Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” and “Thankful” and John Denver’s Greatest Hits (I must have been PMSing the day he died - otherwise, there’s really no excuse).  So, for me, buying a CD is an event. I want to feel the butterflies in my stomach while driving to the store, I want to feel my heart jump when I see rows and rows of Daughtry on display, I want to have a hard time getting my credit card out of my wallet because my hands are shaking, I want to put the cat out and give the dog a rawhide so I won’t be disturbed while I read the jacket cover, I want to plan on half a day to listen over and over, and I want to learn all the lyrics and be singing all the words by dinnertime. Call me a purist (or a complete and utter dork if you must) but preordering and waiting for the mailman just doesn’t have the same sense of ceremony. The whole process will be repeated for Taylor Hicks in December and again in March for Kelly Clarkson, but for now, I am happily making plans for Chris Daughtry Day on November 21st.Â
