Idolwire.com readers already know the name; Jared “JL” Cotter has been predicted by the sources in the know at idolforums.com to be one of the top12 male contestants. However Cotter wasn’t featured in any of the American Idol audition shows; I figured AI fans might want to know a little bit about Mr. Cotter so did some sleuthing of my own.
Our main stop in my net-trip is Jared Cotter’s MySpace Page. The title tells the whole story “Jared ‘JL’ Cotter – The Future of R&B”. Confidence is a good thing; thankfully this man has the looks and voice to back it up. I particularly liked the song “If You Were My Girl” featured on his MySpace page. If I had to compare him to other contestants I’d say he’s a more refined Jenry Bejarano.
There’s not much more information out there about Cotter; rumor has it he auditioned in New York City. American Idol seems to have turned the audition programs into a parade of cheesy gigs and bad voices with the occasional ear-pleaser thrown in there. With over 150 people across all of the auditions making it to Hollywood it is obvious that they can’t showcase all of the good talent; unfortunately Cotter wasn’t one of those few ear-pleasers that we got a sneak peek of. Now we just get to wait until February 13 for the Hollywood rounds to start to hopefully get a glimpse, and an earful, of this rising star.

I’ve known JL as we call him for a minute. As soon as I heard him
I knew this kid had talent. Not only can he sing, but he can write
arrange, play instruments and produce. This dude has what it takes
to make it big. It’s just that now everybody is acknowledging his
skills once he made it on TV!
Good luck fam.
