The 10 remaining girls performed tonight. Crystal is feeling better and is ready to take the stage. It’s interesting to know that never before in Idol history has the lineup been rearranged for a contestant. Remember when Megan Joy was ill? They didn’t allow the lineup to be changed then. So, does this mean that the judges are favoring Crystal?
Crystal Bowersox - Long As I Can See the Light by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Simon – “I completely misunderestimated you.” “That performance, that vocal, was incredible.” (Yes, Simon said “misunderestimated”…He made up his own word!)- Randy – “You’re not trying to be anybody else and every week, I don’t care, fifty weeks from now, you’re still going to be that girl, I love that girl! That girl is hot!”
- Kara – “It’s effortless.” “Tonight, you hit a new level.”
- Ellen – “That is pure, rare natural talent. There’s nothing forced, there’s nothing pushed.” “You’re amazing.”
Haeley Vaughn – The Climb by Miley Cyrus
- Simon - “It was a complete and utter mess.” “There’s a certain irony about you singing a song about climbing when you actually fell off.”
- Randy – “It didn’t work for me.” “It was excruciating.” “You had no connection to the song at all.”
- Kara – “You need about a year of really strengthening your instrument.”
- Ellen – “I did not feel you connect to the song.”
Lacey Brown – Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer
- Simon – “You are taking part in a competition instead of showcasing who you are as an artist.” “We’re not going to remember it.”
- Randy – “You didn’t do anything special with it.”
- Kara – “You have to step it up from here, still.” “We’re listening to Lacey again.”
- Ellen – “It was adorable.” “It was the right song.”
Katie Stevens – Put You Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae
- Simon – “You’re not telling us ‘this is the kind of recording artist I’m gonna be.” “It wasn’t a winning performance.”
- Randy – “You can tackle things that are a little bit more difficult melodically.” “It was kinda cool.”
- Kara – “I’m so frustrated with you, Katie, cause we see so much in you.” “I’m still waiting for that moment for you.”
- Ellen – “You have a really great voice.” “It still feels like I want to see you younger.”
Didi Benami – Lean on Me by Bill Willers
- Simon – “At least you continued the cat theme throughout the song, because that’s what it sounded like. It was all over the place. It was screeching.” “It’s just a wasted opportunity.”
- Randy – “I didn’t think it really worked. It showed more of the imperfections of the stuff you couldn’t do rather than heightens what you do well.”
- Kara – “It wasn’t good.” “What I’m missing form you is consistency.” “We lost the uniqueness of your voice.”
- Ellen – “You have a great, great voice.” “You tried to do stuff with it and I applause you for that.”
Michelle Delamore - With Arms Wide Open by Creed
- Simon – “You kinda got 80% of it right.”
- Randy – “It fell flat.”
- Kara – “My favorite performance of yours ever.” “It felt believable.” “You took a risk and have a good attitude.”
- Ellen – “You did do a lot with the song.” “You tried to do something completely different.”

- Simon – “I wasn’t crazy about it like the others.” “I thought Crystal was stronger than you.”
- Randy – “You’re definitely unique and you do you’re thing.” “My favorite performance tonight.”
- Kara – “You just had your first ‘moment’ in this competition.” “Thank God you tried out.” “You’re gonna change the game.”
- Ellen – “You’ve got It.” “By far the best performance of the night.”
Katelyn Epperly – The Scientist By Coldplay
- Simon – “It was smart choice of song.” “You become quite corny when you perform.”
- Randy – “I really like it.” “It was nice to hear you play the piano.”
- Kara – “I kind of love you.” “From week to week, you’re switching around…you’re all over the place, but you’re really seriously good.”
- Ellen – “I fell kind of asleep.” “It was so slow and it was way to slow.”
Paige Miles – Walk Away by Kelly Clarkson
- Simon – “You’re getting lost in the songs.” It’s forgettable.”
- Randy – “I wasn’t over the top in love with it.” “You’ve got this big voice.” “I’m not sure it was the best choice.” “I want to hear you hit the big notes.”
- Kara – “I appreciated what you did.”
- Ellen – “I love it, I thought it was fantastic.” “You changed it just enough to make it yours.” “You have one of the best voices.”

- Simon – “You’re such a strange person.” “I thought there were parts of the song which were terrible and then that note was incredible.”
- Randy – “It was dope! You slayed it! I loved it!”
- Kara – “I don’t know how you hit that note.”
- Ellen – “Most people would say don’t take on such a big song. But, ya know, they also said don’t mix sleeves with a blanket and look at the snuggie! It’s huge! So, I think, ah man! That was good.”
